The Dance of the Dead

Single from the album, The Sense of the Eternal.

I should find, after a momentary exertion, that death resembles the sleep of intoxication, and is no more than a supreme delusion. Or that desire is a bodiless phantom, imprinted in the air, and so versatile as to be capable of applying itself in the freest manner: and in perfect repose, amidst a perishing world, it would appear to possess a place among natural and real objects, independent of myself. The eternal shapes within itself the semblances of animals and men, destined to live and thrive and propagate their kind by division, and may produce more wonderful effects which are simulative and delusive, exciting such motion as shall give rise to those spasms, which enter into the vortex of life.
